Road Traffic Flow Collection: The video traffic camera detector is widely used on urban roads, highways, and bridges to collect multi-type traffic data, including flow, speed, vehicle length, headway, and occupancy. Being installed as a single unit, typically a camera on light pole, the IVVD uses virtual loops to collect data across up to 6 lanes. This application provides comprehensive data for traffic guidance systems and supports overall infrastructure planning.
Adaptive Traffic Signal Control: This camera on light pole system provides the critical real-time data necessary for Semi-actuated, Self-actuated, and Adaptive Traffic Control modes. The real-time traffic data—such as vehicle presence and queue length—collected by the traffic camera detector allows the traffic signal controller to automatically adjust signal timing, leading to a significant reduction in delays and minimized congestion. The ability to detect over-length alarming signals further enhances specialized control at junctions.
