We had the privilege to participate on the project in Bahria Town (BT) in Karachi of Pakistan. End User(BT) requested a traffic actuated solution to very complicated intersection where it is needed 32 groups of traffic signals to control the traffic flow.
Sinowatcher and JARI engineering team designed a solution where traffic signal controller with self-adaptive system and wireless vehicle detection system were employed. The client demanded also customized pedestrian request system so our controller engineer had to adjust the software in order to meet such requirement.
Traffic actuated system is a control mode that can be measured by vehicle detector so that signal display time can be changed with the measured traffic arrival situation.
Compared with the fixed time control (which only following preset plans), by employing vehicle detectors the actuated system can fully utilize green time and therefore improve the traffic flow significantly.

The client was dealing with an important and challenging ITS project so we have provided on-site support which included our project manager and traffic signal control engineer.
Furthermore, we have provided instruction and training to the engineering staff of our client to make sure that they are able to utilize our adaptive system completely.
On site installation assistance to our client to install wireless vehicle detection installation (including sensor, router & receiver, data acquisition center).
Engineer has configured the setting of the release plan according to the relevant road condition. During next few days we were checking the configuration of the controller and detect system to make sure it works without any issues.
Once the installation and testing procedure was completed then municipality and traffic police came to inspect the situation
Mayor of the municipality is being presented at new traffic actuated system on the site to inspect the outcome.
