Traffic lights play an important role in our modern life. The penetration rate of traffic lights at intersections is getting higher and higher, but how to judge the responsibility if an accident occurs at intersections without traffic lights? Here is a summary for everyone:

Circumstances when a right-turning car does not give way to left-turning car:

Ø Road section conditions: when there are no smart traffic lights and no traffic police command

Ø The scene of the incident: the right-turning vehicle did not let the left-turning vehicle

Ø Responsibility determination: vehicles turning right are fully responsible

Ø Illegal code: "1314, a right-turning motor vehicle driving in the opposite direction does not allow a left-turning vehicle to go ahead" is scored 3 points

Ø Legal basis: The legal basis for the determination of the responsibility for the accident is the "Implementation Regulations" "A motor vehicle passes through an intersection without traffic signal control and no traffic police command (4) A right turn in the opposite direction The "vehicles that turn left should be allowed to go first".

Circumstances where cars already in the intersection are not allowed to go ahead:

Ø Road section conditions: when there are no traffic lights and no traffic police command

Ø The scene of the incident: the vehicles preparing to enter the roundabout will not let the vehicles that are already in the intersection go ahead

Ø Responsibility determination: vehicles preparing to enter the roundabout

Ø Illegal code: "1312, preparing to enter the roundabout and not let the motor vehicles in the intersection first" score 3 points

Ø Legal basis: The legal basis for the determination of accident responsibility is Article 51 (2) of the Implementation Regulations, "Motor vehicles passing through intersections controlled by traffic lights shall pass in accordance with the following provisions: (2) Prepare to enter the roundabout "Allow motor vehicles already in the intersection first" and Article 52, paragraph 1, "Motor vehicles pass through intersections that are not controlled by traffic lights or commanded by traffic police. (1) Those with traffic signs and markings shall be given priority. "The party that passes first shall go first".

When encountering obstacles to ignore:

Ø Road section situation: on a road without a central isolation facility or without a central line

Ø Scene of the incident: In order to avoid obstacles and hit a vehicle that has entered the obstacle section

Ø Responsibility determination: the avoiding party bears full responsibility

Ø Legal basis: The legal basis for the determination of accident liability is Item (2) of Article 48 of the Implementation Regulations "On roads without central isolation facilities or without a centerline, motor vehicles shall comply with the following when coming from opposite directions Regulations: In a road section with obstacles, the side with obstacles shall go first; but when the side with obstacles has entered the road with obstacles and the side with obstacles has not entered, the side with obstacles shall go first".
